Paragraph spacing on slide master

This is using Storyline 360 3.20.16814.0, Windows 10.
I'm having trouble setting paragraph spacing options on slide masters. The following steps occur:
1. Highlight a paragraph and open Paragraph settings. Enter a desired value for line spacing:
2. Click ok.
3. Click out of the text frame. The text visibly moves to an undesired setting.
4. Open Paragraph settings again. The line spacing value has changed:
This also seems to occur with indentation and the space before/after settings. There seems to be some kind of consistent multiplier of 2.67 being applied to the setting, as the increased value seems consistent depending on the setting I try to apply.
It seems to be similar to the problem described here:
But I attempted the workaround described by Ashley under that post and I'm not seeing a difference in behaviour between slide masters and layouts.

Hi there, Douglas. Thanks for sharing those comprehensive steps to reproduce the issue. I attempted this process in both updates 20 and the current update 22, and my paragraph line spacing remained. I adjusted the Title and Content layout with those settings, and when applying that layout to one of my slides, the body text used my custom setting.
Is this happening to you in a single file, or are you noticing this behavior across many files? Also, tell me a bit more about what type of slide master you're using. Is it one that you've created from scratch, or are you modifying an existing master?

I am able to recreate the issue you're describing in your file, but not in a new file.

It works fine. Thanks Leslie. I think I know when it occurs now.
1. Create a new project.
2. Set the story size to 1920 x 1080 (or possibly any size other than 720 horizontal?)
3. Adjust the line spacing in a text frame on a slide master and experience the above.
It seems to me that the paragraph setting increases by the same ratio as you increased the story size; that is, 1920 / 720 is 2.66666...
If I increase the story size (horizontal) to 1440, I get 2x increases instead of 2.6666...
If I decrease the story size to 360, I get 0.5 the value in the paragraph settings.

As a result of this I resized my project to 720 x 405, thinking it would be easier to work with if paragraph options behaved as I expect them to. Unfortunately, that seems to have caused another problem. All objects in the file appear to have scaled correctly, but when copying and pasting them, they paste at a size and position relative to the original story size rather than the new one. Is this a known bug?

I am not able to recreate the same behavior.
After I changed the story size, I choose to have the items "Scale to fit" as is an option here. Once I did that I copied/pasted a few of them and they all appeared the same size as the ones on the screen.
I made a quick Peek recording of what I'm seeing - if I'm missing a step let me know! I showed it with images/shapes but saw the same thing with a text box too.
I played around a bit more and I think it's just objects on slide masters. Here are the steps I used:
1. Create new story.
2. Set story size to 1920 x 1080
3. Create an object on a slide master -- in this instance it was a 1920 x 212 rectangle.
4. Change story size to 720 x 405, with Scale to fit selected.
5. Go to the slide master, select object -- it is now 720 x 80.
6. Copy and paste it. The object that pastes is a 1920 x 212 rectangle.

We don't use that tool, we track the feature requests in an internal database. Requests submitted through the form for a feature request and mentions in E-Learning Heroes all are track.

Ok Alyssa. From that and other years-old threads I gather there is a chance this bug may never be fixed, if it doesn't affect a critical mass of users.
Without any guide for users as to the priority level of bugs, it seems a bit like casting them into a black hole. I hate to use Adobe as an example, but the user of Uservoice in recent years does enable any user to see the status of a bug (started/prioritised/fixed in beta etc.), and the number of users backing each issue (and thus get an idea of the likelyhood of it being fixed). Before this, reporting a bug felt somewhat like casting a penny into a well, as it is here.
With an idea of the priority level of this in particular, I would be able to set up new projects with this in mind. As it is, I have to be aware and make others aware that if I deviate from the default slide dimensions, I incur these difficulties. If I knew this would be resolved in some reasonable timeframe, it might be acceptable. As it is, it's a risk.

Unfortunately, we don't have a public facing roadmap or voting system. I know tools like UserVoice are widely used by other companies, but it's not something we've taken the plunge on yet.
I can see that the two issues discussed here haven't been brought up by a lot of other customers yet, so at this point, they're a lower priority issue.
If anything does change in terms of our bug tracking system or this specific issue, the team works hard to revisit E-Learning Heroes discussions and provide updates as soon as we have them.

I do expreience a lot of these issues, and I do not uderstand why updates like this is not pushed out quicker. This is a problem I've had a long time, and just now I understood the connection. Nobody makes courses at standard resolution anymore, so I would think all users have this bug.
This makes for a painful way of working, constantly having to search for fixes to issues in this software. Same as the blurry publishing bug that's been reported for years, and just recently got fixed in SL360. But still no date for a fix for us with SL3... Not good.
Hi there, Stian. I recently updated the impact on the report we have for this bug in Storyline 360, and I've made sure we have this issue documented for Storyline 3. As you mentioned, Storyline 3 adopts bug fixes that are released in Storyline 360.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where Paragraph spacing on slide masters was incorrect after changing the project's slide size.

I'm happy to hear the update solved the paragraph spacing issue! Our team is still looking into the second issue of copying objects from Slide Master in Slide View which gets resized and out of the original position when you change your story size.

Hi, this issue seems to have been reintroduced slightly differently with one of the recent updates. Steps:
1. Create a new project.
2. Set Story Size to 1920 x 1080
3. On Slide Master, select text and set space after in Paragraph settings to 2.66666
4. Navigate to another layout, then back to the master.
5. Check the space after setting. It is now 1.

Thank you for sharing your findings as well as the steps to replicate. I was able to follow your instructions and recreate this issue in Build 3.42.22792.0.
I've reported this to my team to investigate and this conversation is attached.
The issue does not occur in the latest update when using a standard story size and seems specific to custom story sizes. I've also verified that this issue does not occur in the previous version, so you can install the previous update if needed.

In Storyline 360 Update 44 (Build 3.44.23192.0), you'll see the line spacing doesn't change on the Slide Masters when using a custom story size. Thank you to everyone who took the time to report this issue!
